Convert to 4wd

Hi all,
I have a 98 ford explorer sport 2 door with the 4.0 engine. I was wondering if the parts from a 4wd explorer will swap over, to convert my explorer to 4wd.

If this is possible, what are the parts required?

Will there be any welding//fabricating needed?

Please don't tell me it's not worth it, this is a project with unlimited time as I am a highschool student that will be doing this during summer break.

i know you dont want to hear this, but do your self a favor and trade for a 4 x 4.
