1bbl carb question
The problem: I have to give it full to almost full choke to stay running when I first start it and keep it that way for about 15 mins before I can open the choke and have it idle (it bearly keeps an idle). If I drive it then I have to give it choke when I slow down otherwise it stalls out, but starts right back up.
So far I have replaced the fuel pump and the thermostat along with new plugs and wires and air filter. I wanted to change these as it's old and was sitting for a few years before I started to use it. I also got those little rubber sleeves to cover the un-used vaccum ports on the carb.
I am going to have the carb rebuilt next in hopes that it will solve my problem.
The issue is I cannot find any type of plate telling me which carb it is. On the carb itself it is marked man. by Carter for Motorcraft, but I dont see anything else. Can anybody tell me which rebuild kit I need for it?
Edit: I have posted a few pics I took of the carb in my gallery on here so take a look if needed. Hope they help.

I can tell you for a fact that I do not know what year the carb on my motor was built, but the kits seem to always have everything I need to do a rebuild, and still have parts left over!
Just my two pennies, but go to the parts store, and get the BEST on they show for your year. The reason I say best is it seems that the cheap ones only last a year or two, the higher priced ones last longer.
They will want to know what letters and numbers were on the tag, but they will get over that if you do not have them.
