I Have A 70's Step Side Bed On My 66 F100, The Previous Owner Never Installed The Steps That Go From In Front Of The Rear Fenders To Behind The Cab, I Dont Know Wich To Buy The 60 Style Or The 70 Style , And Were Can I Buy Them?
It has been at least couple years ago where I could not find a set of 60's or 70's step plates from the list of Ford parts suppliers that I have. Reconditioning, or repaired as best as I could, the originals on my 65 then several months later found a set during a junk yard salvage run and installed them. Suggest look for either style for now, unless you can find a source. Have seen the billet type but appears as if 1 size fits all.

The F100 Flareside beds are identical 1957/1979. Same tailgate, rear fenders, bed sides, side steps. bed floor.
thanks for the flareside correction nd,now the only difference i see from the 50 and 60's and 70's is the rail area, the earlier had the angle and mine is flat, other than that they should be the same right?

WHOA -----------NO!
The bed sides are flat on top (---), not flared (\ /)? That's a 1980's bed...whole different ball game. Everything is different!!

btw: a stepside is a CHEVROLET. A FLARESIDE is a Ford
The narrow step bed 75-79 had the flat tops on the beds, the step beds
were wider, so the front panel will be wider and the tail gate also! These beds
also have an inner wheel well like a small set of tubs! I have read somewhere here that some 75-79 had the 57-72 style step bed, maybe 4WD, I have also read somewhere that there were no 73-74 narrow step beds!

If by chance it did turn out to be a 1980s bed the bed sides would be
punched for the boxy fiberglass fenders.
Somewhere out there, there is a 74 with a stepbed that I built. This
bed had bolt in inner fenders. I have yet to see another bed like it.

I have a set of steps from a 73-79 available. They may be the same as 67-72 I'm not sure. I know they are differant than the ones on my 64. I just put a post on the classified section. $100 includes the brackets.
