I bought a Jet Performance chip, and I want to install it on my truck. I have a 1996 F150. I can't seem to find the ECU unit. Does someone know where it is located. The instructions say it is behind the drivers side kick panel, but I can't seem to find it. Maybe if someone could give me some description of what it looks like. Thanks a lot!
Your computer on that truck is on the drivers side behind the kick panel. You are looking for a small silver box about 1 1/2 inches thick, 8 inches wide and about 10 inches long. There will be a wiring harness on one end with a single 10mm bolt in the center holding the wiring harness to the back of the ecu. The port for the chip will be on the opposite end from the wiring harness.
Thanks
Danny
Your ECU is on the drivers side kick panel. Te ECU is a silver box about 1 1/2 inches thick, 7 inches wide and 9 inches long. There will be a 10mm bolt in the center of the wiring harness attaching the harness to the ECU. The port for the chip is on the opposite end of the wiring harness.
Thanks
