Does anyone know of a supplier for the plastic fasteners that hold the door panel to the door ?...The ones that are pushed into the existing hole in the metal....Thanks...Jv
The local parts store should have them. I looked them up on www.partsamerica.com, which is advance auto in my area. The Motormite or Help! section should have them. The website shows they keep them in stock at the store.
Go to the website, punch in your truck, and then put "door" in the search box. Look under "misc door parts". Write down the part numbers and take them to the store, in case you get someone behind the counter who is having a bad day and claims they don't have them. They can punch in that raw number into their computer and it will bring it up.
If you need more than a few, you may want to check a dealership. Auto parts stores usually only carry 2-3 boxes each containing 3 fasteners. I needed 15 of those things awhile back and the dealer price was about the same as the parts store.
I just need a few...2-3 would do..I'm at our farm in AR. The GM dealership just closed...and word is that Ford will in the next few weeks...Small town...977 pop. Thanks, guys for the help...Jv

You really don't need to answer if you feel uncomfortable, but I am curious as to what price the dealership was asking for the truck before you made your best deal.
You just don't seem them for sale in my area, not even in the mom and pop used car lots. In fact they are scarce in the salvage yards as well. The really bad ones have been crushed while the better ones get restored or put back into service like for a lawn mowing business.
Not at all....This truck was a 2 owner..Traded in on a Neon...his wife was in the hospital 70 miles away...and we know about mileage on these...2WD...351 HO..AC/Tilt, etc...107K miles..Original paint..Interior was 95% with perfect red carpet ..headliner..No a mark on dash pad. Had one split seam on drivers seat.I have since had the inserts done in RED/SILVER cloth...Looks 100% better. Front bumper has one little ding..as does rear...which I stripped and repainted silver..Needed tires and a tune-up. Original paint in the bed is 80%.Had new exhaust..Fixed a couple oil leaks. Under the rear fender wells, the silver paint is near new...........His first shot was 2900...I offered 1900...He came to 2000..We flipped a coin..and I bought it for 1950.I left the original black wheels on it...Used beauty rings and Dog pan caps..Although am looking for a set of chrome wheels...if anyone has a good set for sale...The truck has is 99% rust free. Has one bubble the size of a pencil eraser abover one wheel well. It will be gone shortly. I called Tower Paint and had them make 2 spray cans of the original red and silver...and will touch up with that..They will mix ANY color into a spray can. Have used them for years...I just had it in for window tint...and put on the larger diameter wheel...and the 3rd brake light that was profiled on these pages recently...Sold my custom 66 Shortbed...Like this long bed better...The 4 wheeler fits perfect !!!.........jerry

Wow....seems like a really nice ride for a steal of a price. Extended or regular cab?
Regular cab...Even the top of the bed...where the stake pockets are had been protected with some funny rails..The original paint is near perfect..I spent an afternoon doing all the paint with rubbing compound and wax..If I can figure how to post pics....or get my wife to do it, I will to put some on the site...j
