My 1992 F150 AC hasnt worked since i bout the truck and the guy said it just went out, so i was assuming electrical since it was sudden. There is no power going to compressor, so id assume it is a relay or the switch. where is the relay for the AC? My owners manual doesnt say. thanks guys.
Probably leaked off aka pressure switch. My pump would not work in my old truck unless I kept it charged. I know it needed all new seals as well as update . When was the last time it was professionally charged? They would dry out system and replace any problem areas. You did well most truck Out of the 18 Fords 6 years was it for AC then started to fix things on it.
Unlplug the low pressure switch on the accumulator and jumper the connector. Turn the key on and the a/c switch on. If you hear the clutch engage the electrical system is fine and you're just low on refrigerant (most likely) or have a bad low pressure switch.
There won't be if there's no pressure in the system. That's why you jumper the low pressure switch connector. It's on the passenger side near the firewall on the accumulator.
