I ran split rims on my 77 had to go to truck shops as regular tire places wanted nothing to do with them.
Sears sold me tires, but left it up to me to change them.
I used to bring them into work here at the transit garage, and the tire man would lower the hoist on them to work on them and when filling them back up.
I had to run a liner plus of course I used a radial tube when I went to radial tires.
Now I have standard rims and they put on 235/85-16 as their equivalent.
My dad and I used to do his, but one had to be carefull, nerve racking at the time.
