Stay far far away from ALL "Chips/Inline Fuel Modules" (ie Edge, Banks, Dr. P etc). They ALL will ruin the tranny and engine. Do a search there are hundreds of posts on this.
If he wants to protect his Engine and Torqueshift the only way to go is with an SCT XcalII with "custom tunes".
Give Matt at LIPD a call and he can fix you up with an SCT XcalII and custom tunes. He is the 6.0/Torqueshift tuning guru.
i think he was wanting the edge because he wouldnt have to get a gauge pillar and stuff
He has got to get a pillar mount or some other mount for the Edge. Running without gauges (analog or digital) is suicide.
Hey tell him to get the Edge and then after he spends $2-3000 to repair the broken tranny and that much or more to repair the engine, the gauges mounted on the pillar, dash or above the mirror will not look so bad.
he can tune his truck the right way with an xcal2 and then use an outlook monitor or commander to defuel when a set max egt is reached. both monitors will do that.
Pretty good price but you get standard tunes. $450 from Matt at LIPD and he gives you custom tunes built to the way you drive. 100% the way to go. I have researched the hell out of this and my XCal2 comes in today I hope. You will not regreat this purchase.
The SCT XcalII is the unit you want, But you want it with "Custom Tunes" from Matt at LIPD or Eric at Innovative. My choice is tunes from Matt at LIPD.
The unit you have listed only comes with "canned" tunes and is not the way to go.
