get the club on the wheel and peddles, help the theif move onto the next car. like some have said, they will have less desire if it looks more challenging. but some will still try i gues.
I see a lot of car burglaries in my line of work. All of the full size trucks and SUVs are the prefered targets, especially during family vaction season.
Putting the rear door handles on the front will deter about 3/4 of all would be theives. Their preffered method for enrty is prying the lock. It draws no suspicion, a "good" theif can open the door just as fast as using a key. A theif will break the window and risk the attention when the contents of the vehicle are just too tempting.
Keeping gym bags, brief cases, purses, backpacks etc out of site is allways a good idea.
Take note next time you park your truck in a busy parking lot, especially restaraunts, gyms or movie theaters. Look at the windows when you come back. Sometimes you will notice curved marks where hands were used to shade the light to look in the tinted glass. Often there's a round print in the middle of those marks where the nose was pressed against the glass. They're not admiring your nice truck. They're looking to steal your stuff, take to a pawn shop, sell it for 1/10 of what you paid for it, then go buy a fix of their favorite illegal controlled substance.
Those of you with PSDs. They want to steal the truck just for the motor. As Super Duties age the body parts and interior parts will be the reason that even the gassers will be stolen.
Everyone with the new step tailgate should lock it at all times. I'm sure we'll all see a few of them on beat up older Super Duties. And you can bet they didn't pay $1200 from a reputable parts source.
For those of us who live close to Mexico, if your truck is stolen during the night it'll be across the border befor you wake up. They'll stip it down to rebuild the trucks on their side of the border.
Oh yeah.. Texas is notorious for stealing tailgates! Thats why mine remain locked at all times.. I had some jab steal mine off my Dodge Cummins back in college (2000 era) before I moved to Ford.. I saw the truck 2 weeks later with my tailgate on it.. Knew it was mine because of the missing paint (redneck truck).. LMAO.. Lets just say he got one helluva rear end beating
I have lock cylinders on both of my front doors. How hard is it to replace them with the type from the back doors with no cylinders? Do I have to do anything with the locking mechanism or anything? Can anybody tell me how much they cost?
My truck is white, and I might be interested in replacing all 4 with white handles. Does Ford sell these, or would i have to buy black handles and get them painted? Thanks!

I've seen aftermarket chrome/stainless steel, but I think that it was only the handle and not the body plate. I have also seen white, but it was all plastic and no better than the factory product.
i don't see the big deal, the ease of breaking into the superduty is just a side effect.
if a thief wanted to break into it, he will, no matter what you do, nothing short of putting metal plates over the windows will stop that.
i use to be able to break into any 90's f-series in less than 5 minutes through the vent window, i made a little 2 piece thing out of a clothes hanger.
i sure as heck would never drive something else just because someone broke into it.

Not that I'm a theif by any means whatsoever.. But.. The reason I will not by a window with rear sliding.. For the simple fact you don't need a damn thing to get in them! If you take the palm of your hand, flatten is, hit the window with an upward motion just above where the lock is.. Bam you can get it open.. Then again this was old school where the window lock was that little plastic cap you grabs and hooked/latched.. Not like todays where its like a push button that released the lock
