need y'alls recommendations for body shop in houston area.

hi guys,

recently, i had my truck broken into. them morons damaged my door handle on the passenger side. i'm getting sick n tired of all this.

anyway, long story short, i need a decent body shop in the houston area to paint my new door handles. to possibly eliminate the problem of having to deal with possible unlawful entry via my front doors, i have decided to confuse the possible car thieves by replacing my current door handles with the actual rear door handles on both sides in the front. so no door lock cylinder no more. i will remove the push rods, and i will reinforce all 4 door handles with the steel plates from jimmi jammers.

hence, i need a body shop willing to paint my new door handles since i have the king ranch. damn matching $#@^%. sorry i had one of those moments.

maybe some of y'all could throw out some recommendations. thanks in advance, y'all.

love,

snuggyworm

So sorry to hear about that, Snuggy.

I do have a friend who runs a body shop. Thing is you'd need to bring your truck to him (in Alief) to have him see it to be able to give you a quote.

He deals directly with all dealerships for parts, for instance my paint, he'll get the numbers off the sticker and get the original exact match from Ford.

He also uses an aftermarket shop called Alliance of off Westpark and the Beltway. I've used them too for a front blinker light on my old van. I think I paid $14 something dollars. Ford wanted $80.00.

Let me know and I'll call him. Anything else I can do you let me know, bro.

sure thing man! with my shop discount, i'm being quoted at $150 including taxes at mac haik ford. i bought both rear door handles for $94 after tax. not too bad.

thanks for the kind words, brother. it happens. i just have to roll up my sleeves again, and roll with the punches. i'm not gonna let this get me down.

if u can ask him, tat'll be great. if u can also ask him how much for 2005 f-350 and just to paint the door handles which i will bring the door handles to him, it would be fantastic. he can get the color & vin number when i speak to him, but if i cant get a decent quote from him, i wouldnt want to call him and waste his time too.

once again, i appreciate the help and the response. as always, let me know if i can help you with your installs as well.

let me take pictures of these door handles to e-mail to him and we can take it from there. I'll also get your paint numbers for them and see what he quotes.

I'll call you tomorrow, I have a job to do and then some moving (letting go of my Public Storage) and then I should be available. Maybe 4-ish?

What side of town do you live snuggy? I would do the same to mine if my handles break but I think it would be pointless for me with the keypad entry on my door. Or is there no problems with the key pads?

I have the keypad entry as well. All door handles will be rear door handles which means no keyhole locks, which would serve as a deterrent to car thieves.
