on passenger car non hi performance engines they used the same heads for both 2 and 4bbl applications as well as 460s, the CJ, SCJ, PI, and Boss engines all used different heads but those are a different animal than your asking about.
I have a 2bbl 429 sitting in my shop. It is a DOVE-A block and DOVE heads. I'm curious as to what pistons they used in them. I think they used the same ones as a 4bbl motor.
Yep same pistons, same cam, same heads everything except the intake is the same between a standard 4bbl and a 2bbl 429. This isn't the same deal like the clevelands had with different topends totally
