After reading about Hot Shot's Secret on this forum and some others I decided to give it a try. I had the oil changed this weekend and put the product in. I noticed a VERY big difference right from the start. The engine was smoother at idle/acceleration/cruising, throttle response was quicker and the turbo seemed to spool quicker. I couldn't believe the difference so to make sure that I wasn't crazy I went back to my mechanic and had him take the truck for a ride. Well, he came back 10 min later with a big grin on his face and confirmed what I had experienced. He was so impressed that he's going to get some for the shop to have in stock. I was driving around with my father this weekend and he was so impressed with the difference in my engine that he's going to try it in his 7.3 as well.
If you have a high mileage truck like me I think this product is definitely worth trying out.
Ok, I'll be the straight man since I'm out of the loop here.
What is Hot Shot's Secret, an oil additive?
An oil additive made primarly to clean up the injectors. Do a search on it in the 6.0 section. Lots and lots of good info on it. Several of us have posted our results. Its been working wonders for me and many others and has been a hot topic in there.
well i read the info sounds real good might have to get a bottle of it ... im assuming u just pour it in with a new oil change...? and within a couple miles it should feel some what different right?
Ok, I did a search over on the 6.0 forum and read a couple of long threads about it. I read a lot of claims, but no concrete evidence. Has anyone got a Blackstone report done on this stuff yet? It just seems like every time I turn around, there is some new magic potion from acetone to lucas oil additive to marvel mystery oil to transmission fluid on and on and on ad nauseum that improves mileage, reduces noise, regrows hair etc.
I used it with fresh oil and put 2k on it. It gave me the same results as the HPX line. It was a well spent $50, and I plan to run it thru one more time next year.

So is this the real deal or the latest snake oil?
Well the difference between this and another pro-long/ duralube ect. Is that this stuff is designed to do one thing, clean up the coking on the injectors, mostly the 6.0 injectors, since there prone to sticking. But it also cleans up the turbo and anything else in the oil system. I dont think you would see the results in a 7.3 like you would a 6.0. 7.3s dont have all these problems.... But if it is working for some of you then great! I know it cant hurt.
I dont know about concrete evidence since "feeling" performance gains is so subjective ,but from those who have said it didnt help have mentioned nothing about whether they were throwing injector codes . I do know some folks that have cleared those codes by adding this stuff . Me included. Concrete enough for me .
