I've never used a fuel system cleaner, or put any additives in the gas tank. It appears to be approved fuel line...But enough with the wondering, I'm going to replace it this afternoon.
Ok....I'm not saying that my problem's been solved for sure yet, but after replacing that small piece of kinked up fuel line (with some stout 5/16" ID fuel injection line) I was able to drive around in the intense heat (interstate and stop and go) for about an hour. It was hot enough that if it was gonna die on me, I would've expected it to do so.
Right now (assuming that everything's ok), I feel that my problem was a combination of a dying fuel pump, and blockage or vapor lock caused by that weak section of fuel line.
I'll post back if the problem comes back. (I hope not!!)
