04 f150 IWE solenoid troubleshooting
I am having problems with my front end making a grinding sound when in 2wd. Puting in 4wd corrects problem. I have read posts that suggest faulty IWE solenoid. I checked it out and it passes air in 2wd and closes for 4wd. My question is how do I disconnect vacuum lines at the wheels.
Thanks
Thanks

Just pull them off right where they plug into the top of the knuckle. I think it's the only thing that goes to the axle housing.
On my 07, the vacuum line is a siamese'd thing that has a larger tube siamese'd to a smaller tube. You have to get pretty low to see where they plug into the knuckle.

Thanks, I think I've got her nailed down to the IWE Solenoid. I bypassed it by attaching the two ends with a piece of tubing. The grinding noise has stopped and when I was Idling I could here a tapping noise. When I popped the hood, the solenoid was activating intermittently. Called ford. New IWE solenoid $65 CND.
