Ken, I have installed my chip in my Expedition and have noticed it to be more lively. I haven't noticed any changes in the shifting. I was expecting it to shift firmer under heavy acceleration (similar to a shift kit). Does this have to do with a break in period or is the change not supposed to be that noticable?
The shift change is progressive. At at partial throttle, its controlled by mph, at wide-open throttle its controled by RPM. Under normal leasure driving conditions the change should be minimal and the more agreesive you are on the pedal the firmer and quicker it gets.
Get on a an open stretch of rood, go about 55-60 mph and floor it so it drops down a gear and you'll see the difference. Keep it floored until it shifts back up (you'll be pretty fast by then hence the open road) and you'll notice the upshift should be nearly instant when it occurs. Its not going to be >>>HARD<<< but it will be >>>QUICK<<< and firm. The lag that Ford's have during shifts should be gone.
