New carb with a good idle circuit is on the way.

New carb is on it - I ran it up to forty around the side street next to my place, but it needs more done on the brake system.

The front brakes are workin', but the slave cylinders are pitted in the centers and will have to go soon. I polished every bit of them today inside and out, cleaning up what I could. I have new shoes in the front, the rear is going to be next. The shoes for it are in the (Hood? Trunk? Front trunk???) car waiting to be put on. I bet more air comes out of the rear lines than from Ted Kennedy...

I think the distributor is a waste of time, wish I had an .09 laying around but there is another I can mess with. While I'm at it the transaxle needs a drain and fill just to be sure of it - NO MORE MAZDA TRANNY GRENADES!!!

Hey, at least it's movin'! (FINALLY)

Passing note:
Never EVER take the cover off the door side of a vw seatbelt retracting mechanism. That's the side the spring is wound up in...

(You really don't want to know the gory details)

It missed me - but it isn't going back together. You wouldn't believe how much steel strap is inside one of those!
