Hey all you experts, Just curious , what are your thought on welding the complete exhaust on an old 4 wheeler??? From the headers back. With the twisting and the rough ride of 4wheeling an old rig I was just wondering if it would be a wise idea to weld the whole thing! Please express all your thoughts.
My exhaust is welded on my 87. The rubber hangers they use will keep the welds from breaking. Any exhaust I have ever had has always been welded. Never a problem. Dan

Do you meen welding it to the frame? if so your welds will crack and you will get exaust leaks from every spot you welded. not sure if that is what you ment????
No I don't mean welding it to the frame. That would be kinda of dum, don't you think? I mean eliminating the muffler clamps entirely, execpt for the mufflers maybe.
My 84's exhaust is fully welded on every joint and sees quite a bit of off road use. It has held up great. Just make sure like mentioned above that rubber hangers are used so it wont twist a pipe or break a weld.

Lol, yes it would be dumb but I have seen worse. Ever seen some one use a wooden stinger hitch on the back of their truck to haul a trailer? I have..........I got the hell away from them in a hurry
You will be fine welding the exhaust all the way back.
