Dirty carb

I picked up this holley 750 for 50 bucks.

It was missing the choke leaver and primary float adjuster as well as having some oxidation (rust) on the baseplate aluminum and steel parts and a bit dirty. The parts are easy to replace and the Anodizing is intact and I'd like to keep it that way but I will have to rebuild the base and clean the thing up.
I figure the rust on the venturies might warrent replacing them but I was thinking Phospheric acid (Eagal One Mag wheel cleaner) to clean the aluminum with a toothbrush but thing is it will remove the finnish.
Anyone know of what I can use to clean up the rust and the soot that won't remove the anodizing?

Regular spray carb cleaner should work ok. I've never had it remove the coating.

I used the 1 gal carb wash can for cleaning carbs because no amount of spray would have cleaned it.
the anodizing came right off in the first minute as I feared it might but fortunatly I have a powdercoating set up and was able to Extreem Chrome it. I spent like 165 in parts to restore the carb though. I it needed a new primary bowl - The Float needle hole was stripped. The throttle linkage was bent and the throttle plates were rusted. I also got a Secondary metering plate (upgrade, new floats, needles for the primary, and a nonstick gasket set. As it had no choke I went Electric.
I need to finish assemble but I think it came out nice. To buy it new would be like 550 bucks so I thik I made out after all. I'll snap a few pics and post this weekend.
