The offroading pics are from various Jeep trails here in Colorado. Some from the mountains near Georgetown, others off Jones Pass not too far from Winter Park. There's another trail in there, but I can't remember the name, I just remember it was rated "extreme" and I was afraid of losing some paint in a few spots.
Hey pocket pic's are great my truck has a garret from factory i don't think it is ball bearing is the replacement one better that you bought? to the other guy i'am looking for at lest 2mpg better i might replace intercooler ithink that would help?
Are you asking if the Garret Turbo in your truck is stock?
Also what mods have been done already to your truck? There is no real easy fix to the mpg problem, if you are going for total mpg gain you will want to get a good intake, exhaust, and tuner setup but results will very depending if the tuner actually takes advantage of the extra breathing(intake) and exhaust mods. Alot of people just say keep it simple, better intake and muffler delete, change transffer case fluid, front and rear diff fluid, tranny fluid(if it needs it), fuel filter, add somer fuel additive, and keep it under 2,000 rpms. An upgraded intercooler alone is not going to help you, you need to also do other upgrades such as a turbo I would think if you want to take advantage of that pricy new intercooler. This topic has been discused alot and their really is no real solution for increasing mpg other than just keep the engine under 2K rpms.
hey guy's i'll try 7.3 forum i have a bank's power elbow 4' inch monters exhaust bighead waste gate controler K&N FIPK all amsoil oil in everything motor trans diff's 285 16 tires 3.73 gears 2.5 level kit avg 18 on stock 15 16 with any progam setting that's mpg thats why isaid maybe a intercooler change?
I dont think a comparable 2002 chevy or dodge would get much better than the 18-20 mpg that I get on the Hwy 55-65 mph average. Now if you have a Dually then I think 18 MPG is freakin great! dodge and chevy are gonna be around the same I would think. Heck! my F150 was lucky if it got over 17 mpg on the HWY, same with my parents Jeep GrandCheroke with the 5.7L V8....heh it gets about 22 mpg average on the HWY and 15 city.
I do beleave that the ULSD has taken our MPG's down, but I didnt have much experiance with the older diesel cause I bought my truck right when they started pumping ULSD in my area. So I cant really say what kind of hit in mpg's I took when I started running it.
