Ken, I've just purchased a 2002 Screw, I've read the info on the Diablo and Superchip and am not sure which I should purchase. As I understand the Diablo is more for a stock type truck and the Superchip leans toward slightly modified trucks. I was wondering if the Diablo would allow for slight modifications later, not much just a K& N filter and aftercat exhaust. And also are the chips available for the 2002 with 5.4 yet? This is a new thing for me...I'm used to bolting on parts to make my Fords faster..soooo I guess its welcome to the future for me. Thanks Whit
Oh yes Ken I know this is not a chip ? but my owners manual does not say to turn OD off when towing, the dealer says turn it off when I feel the truck going in and out of OD when under load. I've always turned it off when using an OD. Have you heard any opinions on this? Whit

Both work very well with minor modifications. Both require custom programming for highly modified trucks.

Based on comments on order forms, probably 1/2 of the people buying Diablo's from us have a K&N, an exhaust system or both.

Yes, for most ECU codes. We would need to know your computer box code to know for sure. [link: motorhaven.autoanything.com/Web_store/Html/chipcodes.html|Click here] for information to obtain your code.
I'm in the middle of doing a review of a product designed by former Ford engineers that addresses the issue of OD shift points. More on that later, probably mid-week.
I talked to one of them at length and was told that the OD, as used in current Fords, really isn't a traditional OD because its designed to be used all the time.... however, because of this it engages much too soon in many instances causing the transmission to shift in and out of OD often.
However, I generally don't recommend OD when towing with inclines. You get too much shift hunting up hills which is bad for the transmission and not enough engine braking down hills, which could be dangerous.
Thanks Ken, that settles things in my mind, I'll turn the OD off and I'm gonna order the Diablo.....ok I just like the name better if everything else would be about the same.....lol. Thanks Whit
Hey Ken, I'm interested in hearing more about the product your reviewing on the Ford OD. When might it be available, what will it do, and how much will it cost?
