computer# and wiring

Are the numbers stamped on the box of my computer the ID of the unit?My numbers are E7TF-2C018-AC these are the only numbers that I can find near or on the unit. What if anything do they tell you and do I need the exact same number for a replacement. This is from an 88 F250 EFI 5.8

I have had a fire in my engine compartment and have rewired but still have problems. It has been suggested to me to purchace an under the hood wiring harness.Ford doesn't make this harness any more. Are there any aftermarket choices. What are my options as far as what will fit and work?Thank you,Ron

That's actually a calibration code. A dealer can cross reference it to tell you the hardware type.
