Question for Ken
First off, thanks a bundle for the incredible information that you provide for us Ford owners and the timely way in which you provide it!
In an earlier thread (re: SCMT) you stated "How much you can tow is determined by a) load, b) the stock ECU code you have (Ford codes can vary temp quite a bit)"
Do you have a list of the codes and which ones tend to run hotter than others. I have a 00 F350 PSD, SC, DRW, 3.73 ratio, and my code is NVK4. How is this code in comparison to others or are the differences negligible?
Second, if I could get your opinion on my planned path forward for mods. With the above mentioned truck I tow a 29 foot fifth wheel that weighs approximately 9000 lbs. I've towed it for a year now with average trips being 125 miles round trip and longest being about 800 miles round trip. Anytime I tow, I take it easy and rarely get above 60mph. After reading this board and others, I've decided to get gauges installed and see what kind of temps I'm registering. THEN, I would like to get the SCMT, load the 60hp program and see what kind of readings I'm getting and based on those readings, do any necessary intake/exhaust mods. Does that sound logical?
Thanks in advance,
JaycoJon
>hotter than others.
No. There is no concrete list provided by either Diablo or Superchips. This is just my experience but I haven't kept a detailed log. My logs mostly document customer satisfaction with codes, any problems that came up and what was done to resolve them.

NVK4 is a very common code. For most codes the difference is neglible but that are some that vary greatly. The more common a code, the better the resulting Superchips or Diablo code usually is due to more consumer feedback.

Yes, good game plan....
