IF they have a relay, it's possible the system wants to sence more draw than the relay gives. However, if that's the case, they should be able to add a resistor in line to get the draw up. I am just thinking here, I don't have your answer.
That one I know, it's plastic. The best tool I have used to cut it up is a rotorzip blade in a dremel with a flex shaft. It doesn't slag as bad as a grinder or cutoff wheel and will cut any shape or angle you please.
cool, i just checked out my dremel and looks like i have a flex shaft thats never been used lol, now also is the rotozip a drill type bit or a grinder? im gonna pick one of these up today if itll make it easier then a cutoff wheel
It's like a drill bit, but rather than just cutting on the tip, it's spiraled so it also cuts on most of the lenght of the shaft. Imagine a 1/8" drill bit that lets you cut from side to side, with the flex shaft, it's similar to drawing with a pencil. It has more resistance and if you cut in the direction of spin, it can be a little unweldy, but if you go slow and cut against the spin it is very controllable.
alright got the bit and decided to strt today, im in a perdicament though, how the hell do i remove the final thing that is hold the 2003 headlight? i got the turn signal off and the two upper clips..
I believe the DRL thing is a standard disclaimer. I see no reason why auto headlights wouldn't work just fine.
They give the DRL warning because many vehicles use the highbeams at a lower voltage for them. When you add the harness they would be at (more than) full voltage, but they would work. High beams can be annoying even during the day, that's going to go double after upping the standard high beam voltage.
I built a harness for my parents truck which uses low beam DRLs from the factory. Now they just run at the same voltage as when in actual headlight mode. No big deal.
be sure to let is know of the austo lights really don't work. I would be interested in learning why. They work ust fine on my '99 w/ a custom harness.
I can't find it, and haven't verified it, but supposedly the activation power is well under 1 volt (for the relays I have anyway). Shouldn't be a problem.
If you need to get the headlight out just give it a good pull as you will not be needing it again if it breaks. It shouldn't break though, they just stick a little. At least that is what I did on my 99' and my 02'. Good luck.. Will look alot better when you get done.
