turbo?

I just bought my truck about 3 months ago and I'm still new to the whole diesel thing but I'm learning. I bought the truck off of my girlfriend's dad and I know its been taken care of well. It's an early 99 f250. Now I know he said the turbo was replaced under warranty in 2002 however I was wondering if it was replaced with the same exact turbo it came from the factory with or another one. This is where you guys come in. The turbo on there now is a Garrett with the part number 991966C91, is this the same as the stock early 99's had?

Thanks,
NIc

Yes the stock turbo is a Garrett. For the early '99 models, in order to switch out the turbo for a different model you must also change the pedistal and up-pipes. Under warranty Ford will only replace the turbo, and not switch it over to the late '99 and up setup.
