hello, is it possible to swap a 390 and c6 into a 1970 f-250 sport custom??
It currently has a 289 with c6 or c4...its not the original engine. anyway if it IS possible, where can I get mounts? Are there going to be any major adjustments needed? of any sort?
Not sure about the transmission crossmember, but I believe the FE block uses the straight mount towers like the I6. The small block uses the ones that slant back toward the firewall.
yes it should bolt right in. you will need the 300I6/FE towers and the trans cross member can stay in the same spot. A 289 in a F-250 seems pointless. How many valve cover bolts does that 289 have?
Thanks a lot for the input, sounds great! and there are 6 valve cover bolts. you know I really am not sure which engine I have, its either a 302, or a 289....the whole story on why i think its a 289, and not a 302, and all that is in the small block section, where they talk about these 289's and 302's. Its titled "identifying engine 302 or 289"
anyway, that doesn't really matter, iam still planning on putting the 390 in that i have sitting in the garage. thanks again for everything!
