Compound? Has anyone considered duals, as in parallel? One dedicated to each bank? I'm presuming that since Banks has done this with the Duramax it is also feasible on a Powerstroke. Depending on plumbing clearances of course.
No, sequential. In a sequential type, the engine uses the smaller turbo at lower engine speeds to provide power early in the powerband, then as the engine moves up in speed and reachesa certain boost, the larger turbo kicks in and both pump air into the engine. In a compound setup, two different sized turbos feed off one another to do the job of one turbo. They work in series. Yes, therehave been some that looked into striaght twins, but, space is definately a limitation in the 6.0. Hard to plummb twins into the intercooler and back into the intake.

If the rail pressure drops, so too will the feed pressure somewhat. Mine's not budging, yet. We'll see when the bigger injectors come along. I know some guys running 475cc injectors that just replaced the stock HFCM with a higher flow pump and changed to a bigger pickup and that's done it for them. I still need to drive on the street and tow, so I don't plan to go that big.

Basically, yes. Supports up to 65psi boost. About as much as the stock bottom end can handle anyway.

Yes, but my pocket book isn't quite that deep, yet. I'm still waiting for Publisher's Clearing House to drop off my first check.
Know the feeling. Took real hard look at parts I'd need to make a reliable/streetable 500hp in my Cummins(99 VP44 24v)....10 grand is a good start before the supporting machine work.
