A friend of mine is a mechanic and he told me that the people over at ford made this diff clutch pack and there is no info on it but you can't use one without the other thats why they sell it as a pair now.

It's seems your vibration issue was in fact caused by the broken clutch pack. I'm curious if it's okay to have an old-style clutch pack on one side and the newer design on the other (I'm under the impression that there's one for each side).
how do you compress the spring to get the spider gear in I have do the clutch pack but I can not get the spider gear back is for the life of me!!!!
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
There is a special tool for it. I can't imagine how you would do it without it. I'd say take it in to a shop that can do it. Also, as I recall, we tossed a number of the spacers from the kit away.
I have installed the new clutch pack and my friend (a mechanic) told me that it comes in 24 pieces because it is a universal clutch pack. Meaning that it will fit many years of f150, expys, navi's and so on!! The universal comes with 3 different size plates that go on just before the spring plate. There are three different sizes two of each .070 .075 .080 (my espy takes a .080) you might have two, four or none left over depending on the type of ford you have. just wanted to let y'all know just in case you have to do those DEFECTIVE CLUTCH IN THE NEAR FUTURE!!!!!!!!
so that means that I would have to take the whole diff out and take it to a press shop :-(

HELP!! Replaced the rear clutch pavsk in my 1999 expy everything went back to gether except for the side gears in the diff case. I was told that you need a speciall tool to get them back in. If not how would I get them in, and if I do what is the tool and where could I pick one up!!!!
Thanks guys and this is the best forum i ever came across!!!!!!!
I don't know if a non-dealer shop would have the tool, but I would suppose so. When you take the gearset out make sure you keep the bearing caps, races, bearings, and spacers in the same position as when you took them out.
