Turbo Downpipe
I was thinking of ordering a 3 or 4" downpipe and running 3" or 4" exhaust with no cat or muffler. Will this downpipe make a difference? Is it worth buying and how much power will I gain? Thanks.

Yes, the down pipe is worth buying. A round down pipe and open intake (Kwik Filter or Tymar type) are two of the best mods for our trucks. You will see around 10-15hp gain and alittle better fuel mileage. Also delete the CAT, mufflers for our trucks are straight through type and do not cause much restriction. Others will be along to add their advice.

thats the first thing I did was the down pipe and then tymar intake and just yesterday I removed the muffler. Man......now I can hear the turbo. I don't know how much power I gain but it feels good to hear the turbo.

Down pipe will lower your EGT. Do you have any gauges now? If not I would install them along with the DP. I installed a 4 inch new exhaust system and my EGT temp dropped by 200 F. Before the new system if I was pulling any long hill I had to back out of it because of EGT would hit 1200 F. Now I keep my foot into it all the way up the hill. Removing the old DP is a pain. Installing the new one a porta power will help alot.
