Banks downpipe question??

Will the aftermarket non flattened banks 3 inch downpipe fit the stock turbo setup? Just want to be 100% sure before I buy.

Yes, it bolts right to the turbo outlet with the existing v-band clamp. I have a brand new one sitting in my garage I'd let go for less than market if you're interested. P.M. me.

Just to be clear...the link that Mac gave is upgrading the factory outlet to a 3" v-band flange and i also modified an obs psd down pipe to work.

The banks down pipe you are asking about is as simple as unbolt the factory pipe, massage the firewall pinch weld a little with a hammer or cut off wheel, then bolt the new banks pipe in. there is NO modification to the turbo outlet needed with the banks pipe.

How much of a difference between the two? Like in terms of performance, gain, etc.

I honestly don't know b/c i had a junk injection pump on my truck when i did that mod. i would still say it is worth it though. any time you and make/help the engine breath in and out better, nothing but good can come of it. IMHO, the banks down pipe is quite a bit of money just to get rid of some flat spots in the factory DP, yes it is WAY better than the factory pipe but you still have the restriction of the outlet housing which is a touch less than 2.5". I'm not sure how much the obs psd DP's go for by them selves but i think they are less than the banks pipe for our turbo, so you could do a psd pipe and outlet mod for the price of a banks pipe. yes more work, but more "reward". if you handy with a welder or know somebody who is, then i say go for it.

Russ, type4 on here installed it for me, it requires some machining of the compressor housing to make it fit. i can't comment on any gains from that over stock either b/c of the crap IP.

Does anyone know where or anyone that may have the upgraded housing? Cause I don't really trust my fab skills...

Could a small 105 mig welder do the job? And did you cut it with a torch or cutting tool?
