I have a 1977 F-100 with Tu-tone paint scheme and am looking for the crome trim on the passanger side fron fender that separates the two colors. I have looked at LMC and BOTP but they only sell the center line trim that houses the marker lights. No luck on Ebay either. Any suggestions? Is there an aftermarket flex trim that would closely match the factory?
As have I. I've been stopping by the junk yard every once and a while, picking up various trim pieces in good condition. All I have left is the bed-side chrome and I'll have a full set that, with a little cleaning, will be in like-new condition without the $600 price-tag for new pieces from DC.
I don't mean to hi-jack the thread, but I need to remove this trim from my truck. How is it attached?, I don't want to screw it up by trying to force it off?
Dennis Carpenter lists the Front fender Racetrack trim in their Online Catalog as Coming Soon - You might want to call them and see if they started repoping these. Their online catalog is last years.. Page 91, they redo 90% of the parts needed for these old trucks off the Original Equipment that Ford used..
I beleive the Trim is held on with speed nuts from the backside.. Feel up behind the fender and you should be able to feel em.

I've got this one bookmarked for when I pull mine.....
Auto Krafters is listing the racetrack moldings with prices in their online catalog which is 2007. I didn't find anywhere which would state it's not available. I haven't called them though. NPD or Dennis Carpenter doesn't yet show anything availbable, but will soon. I guess you'd have to call and see. The other vendors catalogs just may not be updated. It won't be too long until the vendors have the pieces if not already. The pieces are expensive, so if you can find them used from classifieds or junkyards, you would save yourself a lot of money.
