Just got the new truck about 3wks ago and while im in debt now, i thought i could do all the free things. I read about the FPR screen, cleaned that, most likely the first time in 164k miles. But then under the fuel heater is this cream colored goo, its soft and takes a large portion of area. I read here it might be algae and to get power service in the white bottle to kill it.
I also checked the fuel color, its yellow so no injector o-ring issues.
Will that dissolve it into the filter or lossen it up to be flushed out the drain?
Have you tried just using brake clean or any solvent and some elbow grease? Yep, Anything you loosen-up should go out the drain. Be careful not to damage the fuel heater at the bottom. If you find one of the three connection points on the heater loose you may want to replace it or just disconnect it.
If you suspect is algae, use an algaecide in the tank(s) and a little in the filter bowl. It should go away before your next fill-up. Get an extra filter and change it @ about 500 miles or so.
