Another VIN needing decoding
I have the opportunity to buy a 1966 F100 that the owner has started disassembly for restoration. He has lost interest and wants to get rid of it. I was trying to get the VIN decoded and need some assistance.
F10AK790018
WB…129
COLOR….W
BODY….K81
TRANC…C
AXLE…09
DSO…52
At this point I don’t know what I’ll do with the truck. I currently have a 1966 Mustang restored and a 1978 F150 4x4 as a project truck. The price on the f100 was just too good to pass up. Maybe part it out on ehay???
Thanks in advance!

Battle of the Books!
One sees the post "I need a VIN Decoded"!!!
Quickly he grabs the CD and excitedly punches the wrong button on the CD drive. Ooops, Barry Manilow starts playing. (Where did that come from?? Oh yeah, the wife was using it for a CD player bacause the stereo is broken. That's right, I promised her a new one.)
Pop out Barry Manilow (buh-bye!) and stick in the MIGHTY CD OF FORD PARTS BOOKS!
Wait for the drive to spin up.

Engine - got it.
Year - got it (and the month? - time is running out!)
Trans - Ah, yes! That's standard. No need to look it up.
(How far along is the other guy? Has he seen the post yet? I hope the 3 hours time zone difference isn't a factor!)
The CD interface pops up - GREAT! Now I can double check those obscure trim scheme codes - but the other guy has them too! Gotta hurry!
(Dumb typos. Stupid keyboard. Can't get the caps to WoRk RiGht.)
Down to the Axle code. Yes! Almost there! Was that a 9 or a 19?
DSO - Uh oh, gotta go back to the early part of the book! Where is that page??!! Is the other guy posting yet??!!
DONE!
YES!
WOO-HOO!
ND vs BP!
And THE WINNER IS.......!!!!
Awwwwwww, shucks.

The upholstery, axle code were looked up and the DSO was verified.
No need to remove Barry, cuz Barry ain't here, and I sincerely doubt he ever will be. This is classical music country around here, with 20's jazz, film music, ragtime, zydeco, and Hank and Patsy and other pre 1970 country music artists tossed in for good measure.
I'm into the '70s to now era of country, although some "older" stuff is okay as well. Love me some George Jones!
