Hey i was wondering what the heck is causeing that anoying buzz in my speackers in my truck... i have a 95 F-150 and a Pioneer DEH-P6800MP deck goin to a 300watt pioneer amp which runs to 2 premier 5 1/4's in the doors, 2 alpine 4X6's in the back cab walls, and 2 6X9's... it only buzzes bad when i have my key forward and seems like its the alternator causing the buzzing cause when i turn my fan or A/C on it gets worse or even roll down the windows or lock my doors. i also have an electric fan instead of the fan right off the block and when that kicks in high it gets worse... but today when i was cleaning my truck out and the key was turnd backwards, i noticed a kind of clicking or ticking in the speakers when i had a cd playing. the deck taht was in the truck, some cheap Clarion, it didn't cause any of that sound in the speakers, but since i hooked up my pioneer it started... ANYWAYS whats causing that anoying sound and how can i stop it?
ok i found the LPF switch on the amp and with it is turned off all i here is bass, and lots of it! and still that buzzing... could it even be the wireing to the amp? like its only 16 gauge wire going to the amp and its getting the power off the deck, if i re-wire it off the battery woudl it sound alot better maybe? the guy wo wired in the steareo in the truck who ahd it before me, did a really bad job at it... but if i re-wire all the speakers and re-rout the power would it maybe stop the buzzing? or could it even be the gain setting on the amp?
2G from the hot post on the batt. to the amp, BIG ground to the best ground u can find. and at least 16 guage to all speakers, make SURE u have a good ground, that makes a WORLD of difference
possibly. if u need some wire, ill have extra amp wire here soon. dont know if its exactly enough for u, but it would probably be good for ur ground. lmk
not really? other then not a good enough ground, where is ur amp located? if its in the back it could be picking up the fule pump... i had one that done that, put a better ground on there and it quit. but i moved my amp and everything. really other then that idk what to tell u. but DEFINATLY put bigger wire on amp power and ground!
ok the amp is located on the back wall of my cab. like right behind the drivers seat almost. I'll swap the wiring tonight. and also i was going to run anotehr amp but it is too large to fit inder my seat, so where should i mount it then with out getting any static or buzzing? the bigger amp would be only powering 2 12's.
ok and then it wont have any buzzing? what if i mount the small 300 watt amp to the front of a box also. i have a regular cab with a flip down center consol so i was goin to get 2 individual ported boxes for the subs. and them make like an amp rack behind the consol part. would that also prevent the static?
if they will fit.. and i cant exactly tell u if there going to buzz or not, there not SUPPOSED to tho. and another word of advice, if ur buying 2 new subs and a new amp, get a 4 way amp or something. that away u can put the subs to it, and the speakers, it would greatly cut down on all of the wire and hassle
