Cool When it rains, it pours!!

Amazing! I took my truck in today to a good local Diesel service place that I go to for stuff that I normally cannot do. They fixed my longtime leaky oil dipstick o-ring on the oil pan that has gotten much worse over time. They also did a complete cooling system flush complete with block plugs drained. Total 300.00. I arrived to pick up my truck and go outside to drive off and low and behold the engine wont crank over. The owners go outside and troubleshoot it for a couple of minutes and low and behold my starter crapped out. They make some calls and get a new starter over to the shop and put it in for me! BAMM another 200.00 down the tube!! It has been an expensive day at the shop!!

all i can say is count your lucky stars! i know its easier said than done but just think if you were in traffic hauling a trailer and your truck cut off for some apprent reason or you cut it off and the starter went out then!!! to me thats the second best place to have something go wrong!!!

Talking stealership

Yea you have to look at it on the bright side. If my starter goes out I'm down for two to three weeks and I have to pay almost the same as you because of shipping and then after all the I have to put it in. Man I miss the States. Good luck

Just a thought, but to save money....If you never shut it off.....you would never need to replace the starter...

They charged me no labor to put in my starter as they felt bad for my situation. Sure I could have put it in myself and I even offered to put it in so they wouldnt have to mess with it.

I agree with tj, there are not too many of those kind of shops around anymore. They deserve a good reputation and to have the word spread around that if you need a good shop in Albuquerque, take your truck there. Glad your back up & running.

They are pretty cool owners. I thought it was nice of them to not soak me to install it. The price of the starter was bad enough, but I think it was worth it. They installed a Visteon starter, which they say makes most of Fords Motorcraft starters.
