2008 F350 chip questions

I have an 08 F350 6.4L and I'm looking at putting a chip in it. I have 164000kms on it, standard trans with the original clutch still in it. I'm wondering what chips work well with my truck and if it would be wise to do my head gasket and head studs, as well as my clutch, the trans is still very strong and the clutch feels good. Truck doesn't leak a drop, no oil coolant water etc..any suggestions and tips?

Chip it, are you going to do truck drags>>no, find a tuner, delete it if that's what your plans are and drive it. Run it on a tuner on no power or low power you should be OK.
There are also on delete tuners that sound like that work fine, that's a choice you'll have to make.

No I won't be drag racing, I am primarily looking for a chip that will give me more torque and more mileage as I use my truck to tow for work quite regularly. Any suggestions on what chips work well with my truck? I am planning on doing a cold air intake DPF delete and the chip. Any suggestions on intakes would be greatly appreciated.

Nope. Just a simple Tuner (H&S or Spartan) and you'll be fine. Try the Search Function. There are dozens and dozens of threads on this topic.

i think depending on how high you turn it up (500rwhp very easily attainable) you will need to get a better clutch.

Where would I find a clutch kit with full Kevlar buttons? I have been to numerous sites and can't find any with full Kevlar, the best I could find was Kevlar and ceramic buttons but they're only rated for 400hp at the flywheel and 800ft/lb torque.

Also, back on the topic of chips. Is an H&S mini maxx compatible with a standard trans? H&S says that the mini maxx is designed to work with Ford's Adaptive Memory system which I'm assuming is only on the automatic transmissions. I was also wondering of there is a way to elimate the defuelling mode that the chip has, as it will obviously be unnecessary with a standard. Will this work on a standard trans or is there a way to turn off any transmission tuning aspects and the defuelling program of the mini maxx?

If you don't have.an auro I see no reason to worry about it. Just bypass the transmission setting. You should be fine.
