Cool Starter Issues

I have a '78 F150 with a 351M and an Automatic. Currently I am having a problem with the starter not disengaging after I release the key. So far I have replaced the starter, solenoid, and ignition switch. I can get the starter to release and get the motor running by removing one of the ignition wires from the solenoid (the one on the battery side) after the motor catches, but I don't want to have to do this every time I need to start it. I'm thinking that the solenoid isn't releasing properly and that's what's causing it, but it's already been replaced....twice. Any ideas?

It was 2 below yours.

I would suggest the ign switch is the problem.

You can do a fault test to verify if yo have a multi-meter.

I already replaced the ignition switch. This morning the truck wouldn't kick over at all until I popped the hood and wiggled the wires leading to the solenoid. This is what it was doing initially before I started replacing parts, so nothing has changed.

You didn't switch the two small wire positions did you?

I don't think so. There is a brown wire and a red wire, do you know what position they are supposed to be in?
