WRONG!!! The addition of a chip does not void the warranty. Just as adding non-Ford wheels, motor oil, air filters, etc. If an aftermarket part causes a repair to be required they can deny THAT claim (and the burden of proof is theirs, not yours) and related claims but they cannot void the warranty. The bottom line is that consumers who aren't aware of their rights get taken advantage of.
They cannot void the warranty for installing the part. That's the law. They can deny a claim to a part if the addition of an aftermarket product causes damage but they cannot void the warranty simply because you have it in it there. And the burden of proof is on them. For example, if you take in the truck for a steering problem they cannot void the warranty because you have a chip in it.
However, if you have, for instance, a hot 100HP chip and you burn up your turbo they can deny the warranty coverage on that claim. The warranty, however, remains intact and you could still take it back in for a bad door hinge, steering problem, etc.
Yes, you play you gotta pay but telling people their entire warranty is voided is fear mongering and if you read that entire thread you'll find that's the informed concensus, especially from the dealer techs involved in it.
