ken questions about chips
I have a 1993 f150 5.8l e40d 33inch Bfgs.new rebuild with mild cam and old style non emissions heads with larger ports and valves yeilds approx 9 to 1 comp the air pump is non functional also have headers 3 inch exhaust. As you have probubly guessed I have a check engine light that wont quit. Assuming that it is not under injected is there a custom chip that you can burn to help power this combo, and perhaps kill the air system code. If so can you explain briefly .

Yes, we can burn a custom for this. Just did a Mustang like this a few weeks ago. We can kill the check engine like program and add power. We'd need to know the cam specs, new bore size, etc. The more information the better. Knowing this will help us nail the air/fuel ratio. Cam specs come into play with injector timing though there are trade-offs with a cam that a chip will not get around.
