Wow! that was cool, thanks for all the info guys, anyone know which sponser sells the doors? I'm thinking that I could probably fab my own box if I had the door, since it would have to be shortened to fit the shortbox anyway. Bucks77, like you said, the only reason I am even considering doing the conversion is that the bed is in need of some repairs anyway.
Oh, My truck has no trim, could you get the toolbox on a truck with no trim package?
redneck, what would it run me? and where is Osceola?
Slightly off the subject, but a buddy of mine was saying he met a dude that installed a track with a slide out BBQ into one of those boxes. I think that's brilliant, and have been thinking about doing the same to mine, or at least build a removable one...
Maybe it's only because I'm in AZ but what the heck's the matter with a refrigerator shelf, a few rocks and some hardwood? :/
Alvin in AZ
ps- only thing those people in Rio Linda CA got over me is greener weeds. :)
Has anyone been able to source the body molding piece for the tool box. I've been searching forever and none of the parts warehouses/catalogs that have looked through have that one piece that I am missing. Any help would be appriciated.
I added the tool box to my truck, its not hard to do but it measures 30" long, 10" high. The ABS plastic tub goes back to 1 1/2" from the frame and has a metal band around it that bolts to the bed floor. The race lower race trac molding that goes on it is rare and weather strip couldnt be found but i used surgical tubing instead. i added a pic to the gallery of the hole in the bed side
