bypass MAP sensor??

heyguys i have a 2004 7.3 and im ordering the bully dog programmer for that tonight ( any thoughts on that programmer is needed) and i have a 5" straight custom exhaust made. i have heard some things about recrossing the MAP sensor or whatever that is?? i have not heard of that ever? even in the cummins (imma cummins guy) but i was wondering of someone could fill me in on what this is and is it worth doing to my truck? and also how is it done?? thanks for any advice.

unless its an overseas vehicle, the ford plants across the pond still produce superduty with 7.3

id like to get an 08 superduty F-450, CC, LB, dually, with a twin turbo 7.3 with a 4 valve head set up, making 380 hp and 700 tq. and getting 15 mpg city, on 3.73 gears.
yep, thats what i want.

call me crazy, but for the price they want for that new truck, i should be able to order it my way.
which, my way is better any way.
