i just put in all new front lights and i need to adjust the passenger side head light a little towards the center of the truck and maybe down just a hair. anyone know how to do this?
Travis, there are adjustment nuts to do that. Where it bolts to the support piece. I believe that's correct. BTW, it's about time, welcome to FTE brother.
yeah i finally got on here sunday, but i haven't posted on anything. i'm going to try to get those stacks here pretty quick too BTW. thanks Cody. after i get off work tonight i will try to adjust it.
Travis welcome to FTE. Glad Cody got you hooked up here!
Did you replace the headlight housing or just the bulb? if you did the bulb make sure it is seated all the way. the aim shouldn't change with just a bulb change but who knows crazier things have happened!
Adjusting the headlight is a pain in the rear end! up and down adjustment is easy. There is along rod with a hex at the top that sticks out behind the headlight bucket at the top. side to side adjustment is the hard part. This also depends on if you have stock headlights or aftermarket. I have been told the stock headlights can be adjusted from the top inside corner. The back side of the adjuster has a hex on it. that can be turned to in or out to adjust side to side. There are really three adjusters. The one for the up and down. then each top corner has an adjustment to side to side. these can also be used to align the housing in the hole. It difficult to explain so I will try to snap some pics when I get home tonight.
If the side to side adjusters don't have hexes on the back side then the headlight trim/parking light assembly need to have the top screws removed and if your lucky and have a good 1/4" drive swivel socket you can get to the front side. If you can't get to it the whole trim/parking light needs to come out.
i actually got to lookin' at them today and the drivers side headlight needs to go in a little bit on the side that is closest to the center of the truck. i actually replaced the header panel, all lights in front and headlight doors. i had already replaced the grille so i didn't have to do that. i can live with the way they are, but i would like to get them straightened out so it looks like it is supposed to. thanks for the help. oh yeah and they are stock lights if that matters.
