Where is the ECM code located?

I've gotta get my SCT Xcal2 fixed by SCT and they need the computer code? Where is it and how do I go about getting to it?

I'm assuming you're talking about your PCM -- the PCM is located in a plastic bracket by the parking brake pedal. You can read it with an inspection mirror & flashlight or pull it out. There are instructions around (and even a video) on the web about how to do it, but all you do is unscrew the 10mm bolt in the engine compartment & unplug the wiring harness (MAKE SURE YOUR KEY IS NOT IN THE IGNITION!), take out the two 7mm screws holding the braket & PCM in truck, and wiggle it out. Takes about 5 minutes. The sticker is on the end and is 3 letters & a number. Mine was "VDH2".

Hey, you're right. Must be broken! I just looked at the video like a week ago...

Keep trying, though -- maybe it'll be okay after a while.
