Hey im in the process of puttin the AS 2.5in leveling kit on my 04 and I know the bolt/nut for the lower strut is supposed to be tight but this thing is rediculous. I can barely fit my 30 mm socket on here, its a 12 point maybe you think i should try and 8 or 10 point and it might slip on easier?, and when i get it on enough to get it locked on which is rare i can't get the thing to budge. My impact wrench wont even do it, any tips or idea to help me out? Please any ideas are appreciated! Thanks guys.
I'd suggest a 1/2" drive, 6 point socket, a long, 1/2" drive breaker bar, and a piece of black pipe for a cheater if necessary. Something's going to give at that rate.
Soak the nut in some penetrating oil too if it looks corroded.
Try a propane or MAPP torch to heat the nut. It may have some thread locker on it. Heating it will release the thread locker and cause the metals to expand and contract, helping to break it loose.
Aren't these nuts and bolts he is referring to made of aluminum? Oh, maybe thats the lower control arm bolts i'm thinking of. Agian, theres always the possibilty that i dont know what the **** im talking about. Sorry.

yeah i figured out i need a deep socket, thatll help me get more grip lol, and ive got it soaking in penetration oil right now, imma let it sit on there over night then tommorow morning after football practice imma go around and see if i can find a 30mm deep, praying i can find a 6 point, and yeah ive got a pipe, my dad suggested that, i think with the 30 deep (if i can even find one ive been all over today looking for one), and the pipe and the penetrating oil well get it to break tommorow, Thanks for the help guys.
PS - get a better impact wrench, too! Mine ripped those nuts right off like they weren't even on tight. And it's just a cheap "Earthquake" model from Harbor Freight.
I've been to Ace hardware, autozone, advance auto, sears, couple of local hardware shops, nobody seems to have them. Tommorow after football workouts i will go to NAPA and Central Auto and see if they have them, if not i'll be driving across town to a different sears, all for one socket lol.
