Early yesterday morning I had a ton of errands to run..you know home depot, the dry cleaners, bank, etc., etc. Back and forth type stuff....Instead of taking my Tahoe I took my 1976 highboy since it has been sitting to long and needed to stretch it's legs.
I filled up the tank in the morning and topped it off at the end of the day. 7.7 mpg around town...Yikes! I should of never checked the mileage, I'm depressed now!
Yeah very true depending on how you drive and if its well tuned proper tire pressure what not but any truck in the city isnt going to get good mileage and with the big thirsty V8 its not that easy
I have a 390, 4 spd., a 4.10 gears. It was tuned up about about a year ago, but has been sitting way, way to much. I have put around 2,500 miles a year on it at most for the last 10 years. I should of never checked the mileage...frickin depressing!
Damn...Those 6 cylinders are economical! I have been told that putting a diesel in the truck would cost a bundle, and it would not be anywhere as economical as a newer diesel truck do to the "shoe-box" aerodynamics. I dunno?
