Max tire size

My brother-in-law just became the new owner of a nice little 71 Bronco. He asked me to post this question for him. The Bronco is uncut (I'm trying to convince him to keep it that way) and he wants to know what size tire he can fit in the rear wheel well. He's running the original wheels (7inch??) with no suspension mods. I thought maybe some of you guys might be able to tell me what size tires you have stuffed under there. He's not looking to go extreme, but he wants to make sure he won't have any problems with rubbing. I really appreciate it- and I know my brother-in-law will, too. Thanks.

Nate

Max tire size

I have an uncut '70 and have P235 75 R15s on it. They are big enough to look good, but still fit. I once loaded it heavy on the back end and experienced some minor rubbing (only on big bumps) but have had no other problems in over 40K miles. There is not enough room to get tire chains on the rear with that size, if that is an issue. I would not recommend going any larger.
