Well after I read so much about Tymar intake system and filter, I went and bought it, then installed it, Monday will be the big test for Tymar, and the new Banks intercooler system, I'll be pulling a hill that has always made me glance at the ETG and boost along with the Ford factory temp gage, I'm a worry wort when I hit hills.
here is a picture or two.
Thanks for the information on the air filter.
On the install the air temperature sensor was told to conect and just lay it on the fender well, any coments welcome on this.
Looks great! Did Dale put the hole for the filter minder in or did you? I have heard guys say they put their there and it pegs the minder immediately because of the venturi effect there. do you have any pics of the Banks IC mounted up? curious what it looks like compared to what I did.
I did the hole and Dale said that the gage will not work, see his reply below, I dont really understand what he said about the 26H2O to 32H2O, but I asked him to get me his gage.
My minder did work but the real test will be to restrict the flow of air on the filter and see what happens.
"The filter minder you drilled a hole for will not be operational for this application. The stock filter minder is gauged for 26"H2O to 32"H2O nominal and 36"H2O maximum. Our intake system starts referencing at 17"H2O. If you would like to purchase a filter minder that will supply the correct range, I can see what one will cost."
Here are some pictures on the IC you'll have to tag them though sorry.
looks good! I sort of understand what Dale was talking about but not really sure its really going to work right. Normally those minder can't be right in the intake flow. The closed end of the filter is the better spot for it. But He is a very knowledgeable guy even though I don't always agree with what he says.
Couple things that you might be interested with after you IC install that I have been planning is that since the oil filler is not more difficult to get to you can get a riser off a 7.3 superduty or a 6.0 superduty (longer than the 7.3 and what I used) to get that filler hole up above the piping. I used the banks y-pipe but not the tubing for mine so my pipes are routed very similiar to yours. i am also planning to use a 7.3 superduty dip stick to get the dip stick out right next to the alternator. I have the filler done but not the dip stick. I can post pics and part number if you interested.
i can see from your pics you have the red intake hose going to the turbo you need to get the black updated one i have heard nothing but bad things about the red one

Well I'm all eyes, and interrested in what you have heard and read, now are you talking about the red hose for the turbo, That is the original hose that was on my truck when new in 96 or the one that Banks put on in 96 also, I've never had any problems with it ever.
