1 piece switch mounted to L shaped bracket held to firewall with two sheet metal screws. Top of switch is stepped, wires coming from bottom of switch.

There's a whole section of pictures, showing the dash cluster, the wiring everything...except one. There is not ONE picture of this setup in the truck parts catalog...not one. In the car catalog see section 106.1

Thanks again! That's the exact description too! Sounds like I might have a bit of a rarity on my hands? All the better reason to do a more or less faithful restoration.

Jermafenser, the light glows more of a bright orange than amber, but it may be lightened from age.

There's only one problem...all the cars used this in 1975/76, and when you apply the part number found in the car catalog...in the truck catalog, it also says 1975...you have a 1974.

One more question..what trans does your 4x4 use? A C6 (I hope)? I found a switch for 1974 4x4..but there's no picture of it. DISREGARD the description in wrong...it's actually a lamp. I have 3 1973/79 truck books, the early book says switch, the latter two says lamp. It says lamp in the car book also.

Mine's a manual - NP435. I'm thinking mine was either one of the last 74's (October build date), or something may have gotten slipped up at the MVD on the title.

OCTOBER?? ....October of what year? ...1974?

Ach du lieber!

A build date of October 1974...is a 1975 model.

1974 production begins in July/August 1974...no wonder my hair is turning grey as I type!

Got the VIN handy? I can decode it...this I gotta see....

Well, I guess that explains something - only problem is that according to the paperwork, I got with it, it's always been registered as a 74! Now I'm hoping my manuals I paid a small fortune for are still at least mostly right!

VIN is F11YRV44352

VIN is F11YRV44352
1975 production began with serial number V20,001

Your serial number V44,352

Your truck = 1975

F11 = F100 4x4 / Y = 360 / R = San Jose Assembly Plant

Well I'll be! Here's where it gets wierder yet - according to the title it was first registered in June of 74. The door jamb says it was built in October.

So please share the part number...

I have been looking for it myself with no luck.

There isn't any listings for vacuum switches or things like that.
