I have a '95 E 150 Conversion Van. I put a new blower switch in because I was only getting on/off and so I am still getting this. Nothing was working and now I at least got it back to where it was before....on/off. Can anyone tell me is there a cold air intake filter somewhere that I don't know about. (Not the air filter) Some companys call them cabin filters. The air that is coming out is not exactly blowing my hair off. the switch is another problem again but at least I have air coming out. Any help would be most appreciated. MN NICE
Don't know about E-150's but most Fords from that vintage have a rheostat on the blower motor housing that gives you several blower speeds. It will be mounted into on the outside of the plastic housing that holds the blower and will be attached with two screws. There will be a couple or 3 electrical connectors on the rheostat. The rheostats sometimes fail giving you no intermediate speeds. If that is it, corrosion eats up the coils inside causing failure. You could try runing power to the rheostat terminals to see if you get different speeds, it not they are easy to replace.
I seem to remember one of my friends telling me about having this problem and that you have to remove the entire dash to get to the problem area. All I remember is his fan didn't work very well and we had to remove the dash to fix it. It was a real PITA.
