Air Horn Project - Part #1
For Christmas the wild redhead bought me a Hadley Bully Big Blast Underhood Air Horn Kit. Finally, I have the time to tackle this project. The kit includes a huge, two-trumpet air horn, compressor, and air tank.
After climbing all over my 2006 F150, I decided that trying to wedge everything under the hood would take metal working skills that I just don't have. Even the frame rail didn't have enough flat, open areas for mounting. Or enough rear access.
Then, in a beer-induced stupor, I had a revelation! Mount the compressor and air tank in a marine battery box. The battery box will fit nicely in the bed, with plenty of access areas for wiring and air hose. Running the wiring and hose to the engine area should be relatively easy.
So, the Part #1 pictures are the battery box with compressor and air tank. I used scrap wood to make a tray for mounting the parts. With the lid on, it's a very clean installation.
Part #2 will be the horn installation, and Part #3 will be the final wiring and hose routing.
Enjoy the pics!
