Another question i have is if i were to remove my converter off of the exhaust will i be losing any low in torque or any torque period ... if its loud im not so worried just wanting to know before i have someone do my exhaust up...Any recomdations on what brand of exhaust/muffler to go with i dont need the whole kit just the muffler part... thanxs
The converter is only a restriction, and i would choose to remove it. Plus it is very heavy. Most trucks do not come with them from the factory, and they have no low end power problems, so...?
Yes, you will need a torque converter to drive the truck. Kidding, just being an a hole. I am not sure if a diesel catalytic converter is the same as a gasser's, but you might not want to throw it in the garbage. The scrap value could be pretty high.

I would suggest keeping it on hand. When I first took mine off, I couldn't pass the visual inspection for emissions, even though the rest was just fine. So I gutted the dang thing and put it back on, wouldn't ya know, I still passed with flying colors. I am keeping the shell just in case some time in the future I have to do emissions again, I will have the original casing for the Cat to make everyone happy.
